How it started
I began working with ceramics as I was fascinated by the potential of this material, and because working on the lathe reminded me of a kind of discipline. For a few years I worked with ceramics manually, then I finally switched to the lathe and in this I found my own thing.
My pieces have the warm colours of the earth, the unglazed parts leave the texture visible and the shapes are sinuous, blunt and solid.
As much as my attitude drives me to try to make the pieces perfect, this work reminds me that it is not possible. It makes me accept imperfections and every time I work, even frustration turns into gratitude.
I studied and worked in design for almost ten years and I also look for projectuality in everyday actions. This project started in 2023 with the production of small series of everyday products, similar but always different.
Attention to detail allows me to work on all my products to make them comfortable to use, handle and store in the home. I like the idea that people who buy my products find a place for them in their homes, use them every day and enjoy the user experience behind the design.
Meanwhile I am focused on sustainability and ceramics allows me to have no waste during the production cycle. Anything I discard during the modelling phase I can recover later, and so on.
Ceramics are fragile and durable at the same time, requiring care not only in every step of the handmade process but also in their use. And this creates a priceless affection with each one of them. I hope you enjoy,
